At Poe Land...

the police are awake all night
afraid they're being poisoned
by all the poison they're handling

and the poor ARE communicable
they have a communicable disease
the disease of no money

and they're hoping you catch it,
you Tight Wadded Bastards,
you Blameless Fascists

and the murdered are sleep and dreams
they've been boiled into clouds
become our rain n food n drink

and the children are chloroformed by culture n nurture
they sleep on their backs, mouths open,
     ears open, anus's n noses, too
that's how the ghosts get in

why everyone is haunted n possessed until further notice
the cops n robbers n judges n juries, banks n schools
    n jails
maybe, most of all, one of em

n forever n ever, and then — never n nevermore
when never n nevermore --

David Earl Williams, The Absurdilachian, writer of absurdist anti-dada dadaist poetry was born deep down near the bottom of the Ethnocentric Gorge and grew up on the banks of the great Ethnocentric River just like everybody else who was ever temporarily alive.
