Mundane Munificence

What once you treasured
no longer serves,
the need outgrown,
a lifestyle altered.
Moving boxes,
children’s items,
maternity wear,
an instant pot just
slightly used,
70-year-old Navy
Regulation uniform
coat, missing a few
vintage buttons.
 
Trader Joe’s empty
spice jars, washed and
dried, a refurbished
laptop humming away,
a spinet piano-must
provide own transport.
 
Who will take them?
Free to good homes,
relics of a life lived fully,
seeking to be repurposed,
relevant once more,
awaiting a new tune
to dance to, a new
rhythm to learn.
